Too often, nearly every day I see dead animals lying on the roads just waiting to be smashed some more.
Based on my calculations during the first half of 2007, every 2 of 5 animals killed on the road are cats. Second highest victim is the hedgehog.
Poor animals are left on the mercy of humans, thus never getting lucky, since there are no Slovenian car drivers who would look out for them. Or even make sure afterwards that the animal is dead.
The cat shown in the photo lives in the countryside and hopefully survives the cruel world.
